N Series Flow Switch
Flow-Actuated Electrical Switching for Non-Hazardous Locations
Up to 600 PSI | Liquid or Gas Service
The PEECO N Series Flow Switch is a rugged, flow-actuated electrical switch engineered for non-hazardous industrial environments requiring dependable performance, long service life, and precise flow detection. Designed for liquid or gas service, these switches operate at pressures up to 600 PSI and are custom-produced to meet the exact requirements of each application.
Unlike mass-produced “shelf” switches, every PEECO N Series unit is built specifically for your operating conditions—ensuring accurate actuation, minimal dead band, and reliable performance over a wide range of line sizes and process conditions.
Built for Your Application — Not a Shelf
PEECO N Series flow switches are maintenance-free and available for line sizes from 1/16″ up to 12″ and larger. Each of the four basic styles can be adapted to a wide variety of piping connections, fittings, and configurations.
These switches incorporate the same proven design principles and internal reliability as PEECO’s explosion-proof models, but are configured for non-hazardous locations using a rugged, slip-on steel cover and weather-tight enclosure.
Weather-Tight, Industrial-Grade Construction

- NEMA 4X weatherproof design
- .062″ thick slip-on cover
- Precision machined mechanical groove with O-ring seal (standard on all non-explosion-proof models)
- Heat-treated 356-T6 aluminum housing and cover, epoxy coated for enhanced corrosion resistance
This construction protects internal components from moisture, dust, and harsh outdoor or wash-down environments.
Actuated by Flow — Not Pressure
The PEECO N Series is true flow-actuated, eliminating the uncertainty common with pressure-based switches.
- No concern with minimum or maximum flow limits
- You define the flow requirement — PEECO engineers the solution
- Fully field adjustable across the entire operating range
- Less than 10% dead band/differential between make and break
Flow indication can be configured to respond to:
- Increase in flow
- Decrease in flow
- Flow reversal
Mechanical motion is transmitted from the process media by paddle deflection through the stem and bellows or flexure tube assembly, actuating the micro-switch and delivering a precise electrical signal to the desired control point.
Leak-Proof by Design
The bellows or flexure tube is silver brazed or welded per application requirements, creating an inherently leak-proof seal. This design eliminates the need for packing glands or stuffing boxes—reducing maintenance, improving reliability, and preventing process leakage.
Extreme Operating Range
- Temperature: From -450°F to +1,500°F (application dependent)
- Pressure: From high vacuum service up to 600 PSI
This wide operating envelope allows the N Series to be used across diverse industries and applications.

The Advantage
Standard flow switches are built to generic limits and often struggle with reliability, leakage, and inconsistent actuation. The PEECO N Series Flow Switch is purpose-built—offering superior accuracy, longer service life, higher pressure capability, and true flow-based actuation for demanding industrial applications.
