Multiple Action
Flow Switches

By special use of two or more micro-switches — up to six — PEECO flow switches can indicate multiple flow conditions simultaneously, with independently adjustable set points and DPDT output on every action.

How Multiple Action Switches Work

01

Multiple Micro-Switches on One Stem

Two to six micro-switches are stacked on the same paddle stem assembly inside a single housing. Each micro-switch has its own independent actuating lever positioned at a different point along the stem travel.

02

Each Switch Trips at Its Own Set Point

As flow increases or reverses, the paddle deflects the stem. Each micro-switch trips when the stem reaches its individually adjusted set point — allowing the unit to signal different flow thresholds or directions simultaneously.

03

Independent or Simultaneous Adjustment

All actuation points can be adjusted independently for precise multi-threshold control, or simultaneously when a uniform offset is needed. No external relays or controllers are required — the logic is built into the switch itself.

Detection Modes

PEECO multiple action switches can be configured for three primary detection modes. All actuation points are independently or simultaneously adjustable in the field.

Flow / No Flow

2 Switches

The most common configuration. One micro-switch detects the presence of flow above a set threshold; a second confirms the absence of flow below that threshold. Ideal for pump protection and flow confirmation circuits.

Two Independent Flow Points

2–6 Switches

Two micro-switches trip at two different flow rates — for example, a low-flow alarm at 2 GPM and a high-flow alarm at 10 GPM. Each set point is independently adjustable. Useful for process control loops requiring staged responses.

Flow / Reverse Flow

2 Switches

One micro-switch detects forward flow; a second detects reverse flow. The paddle deflects in opposite directions depending on flow direction, tripping the corresponding switch. Used in bi-directional pipelines and systems where backflow must be detected.

Key Features

Up to 6 Micro-Switches

A single PEECO unit can house up to six micro-switches, enabling complex multi-threshold flow monitoring logic without additional external relays, PLCs, or controllers.

Independently Adjustable Set Points

Every actuation point is independently adjustable in the field. No need to return the unit to the factory — set each threshold precisely for your process conditions.

DPDT Output on Each Switch

Each micro-switch provides a DPDT (Double Pole Double Throw) output, giving you both normally open and normally closed contacts on every action point for maximum wiring flexibility.

Available on All Series & Styles

Compatible with N Series, E Series, and H Series flow switches across all mounting styles — tee, inline, wafer, and saddle. Specify the number of switches required when ordering.

Typical Applications

Pump protection with low-flow alarm and confirmation

Cooling water circuits requiring staged flow monitoring

Bi-directional pipeline flow detection

Process control loops with high and low flow thresholds

Backflow detection in water treatment systems

Hydraulic systems requiring multi-stage flow confirmation

Fire suppression systems with flow and no-flow signaling

Industrial process lines with complex interlock logic

Wiring & Configuration

Each micro-switch provides a DPDT output — both normally open and normally closed contacts are available at every action point. All set points can be adjusted independently for staged responses, or simultaneously when a uniform offset is required. No external relays or controllers are needed.
